Not only has 2013, so far, been a year of records for Kia's new car sales its used car sales have been busy beating its targets too.
Strong used car sales growth
With Kia Approved Used sales hitting 121 per cent of its September target, the strength of Kia used cars sales highlights the continued demand in Kia from both customers and dealers alike. Already at 86 per cent of its 2013 target of 7,100 at the end of September it looks like Kia's Approved Used Car Programme will be achieving another record year of sales.
The Approved Used programme has seen a very positive success rate throughout 2013 with March and September figures mirroring the uplift in new car sales in terms of interest due to the plate changes. But it doesn't just stop there June, July and August - traditionally the quiet time for new and used cars alike - saw Kia used cars beating their own targets and bucking the trend ahead of the market in general.
Commercial Director for Kia Yaser Shabsogh commented "The Kia Approved Used car team have worked hard on raising the profile of Kia's Used Car programme and have achieved great success in a very buoyant market making September our best month result ever.
"All of the models going into our Approved Used programme are prepared to the highest quality, leading to a high demand with all models quickly taken up by our dealer network for customers."
Making its auction debut on 8 October the new cee'd Sportswagon achieved 105.64 per cent CAP Clean price on its first outing which is a positive sign for the popular C-segment model, it's not the only cee'd to achieve over the odds auction figures. The cee'd five-door model is selling extremely well at auction with over 2,000 sold since its debut in May.
Kia's strong Approved Used sales figures are also having a direct impact on the guides such as CAP and Eurotax Glass's and with the positive values making many reassess previous residual values.
Kia Approved Used Programme
Considered by dealers to be one of the best used car programmes in the industry Kia's Approved Used Car Programme is only available through its dealerships. In fact the programme is entirely voluntary for the dealers but with 97 per cent of the Kia dealer network using the Used Approved Programme it highlights the value to dealers and customers alike.
David McCluskey Kia's National Used Vehicles Sales and Remarketing Manager said of the success of the programme "When the Kia Approved Used Car programme was launched in 2009, we sold 4,991 units that year and like every other part of the business, our sales have grown every year since then.
"The success of the programme is in part down to the quality of the Kia brand and the products that it builds but also more importantly the details of the programme - such as the topping back up to our industry leading seven year warranty and peace of mind this gives to our customers - that makes us stand out amongst the crowd"
All cars available on the programme must meet strict guidelines: each car has a full service history, has a comprehensive 88 point check by a qualified Kia technician, is Experian checked to ensure no outstanding finance is due as well as offering the peace of mind of a 60 day or 1,000 mile exchange plan - the majority of manufacturers offer a 30 day exchange plan. Every car is under 18 months old and under 18,000 miles and as well as offering one year's European roadside assistance it is also available with seven day drive away insurance. To top all of this off Kia's industry leading seven year warranty is topped back up to the full seven years.
